Fant de Kanter was born in the Dutch village of Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel on October 26, 1969. He studied Printmaking in Utrecht, but after spending a year in Iceland, he found the strength to pursue his genuine ardour: creating music. He studied composition with Daan Manneke and Theo Verbey at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and graduated in 2000. Since then, his catalogue comprises vocal and instrumental compositions of all sizes and length. But also film music, theatre music, pop songs and electronic music. Since 2009, Fant started to DJ more professionally, focusing mainly on spinning classical tunes from all centuries. He also performed as a music playing and singing actor and played in numerous bands. Nowadays, Fant focuses mainly on composing, but still loves to perform as a DJ. He’s also available as a host/moderator for all kinds of events.

Fant de Kanter (Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel, 26 oktober 1969) studeerde grafische technieken in Utrecht, maar na een verblijf van een jaar op IJsland koos hij definitief voor de muziek. Hij studeerde compositie aan het Conservatorium van Amsterdam bij Daan Manneke en Theo Verbeij, waar hij in 2000 afstudeerde. Zijn werk omvat naast vocale- en instrumentale werken ook theatermuziek, filmmuziek, dansmuziek en liedjes. Daarnaast treedt hij op als dj en als host/presentator.
