There’s tons of classical music, from baroque to present-day contemporary music, that contains a pulse, a beat, or some kind of rhythmic steadiness, which makes it perfectly capable to dance to, especially when brought by a DJ, doing DJ things with it.
But even more interesting is the eclectic approach. Genres are invented to talk about music, not to listen or to appreciate it. Imagine how exciting it can be if a dance floor never knows what to expect? Prokofiev can be mixed with Björk, followed by Prince mixed with Rameau and John Coltrane with Deadmou5.
